Learning objectives:

At the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to…

1. use brainstorming and discussions to select the words and phrases which are focus on the theme of the article so as to make it a substantial one

2. use various proper conjunctions, adverbs and phrases to make the structure of the article more logical so as to make it a believable one

1. Have the Ss watch a short TV news report

2. Share the online shopping experiences with students

 

1. Enjoy the report

 

2. Share teacher’s experiences and talk about their own ones

Elicit the topic.

 

Make the Ss get interested in the topic and prepare for brainstorm

While-writing procedure

1.      Have the students talk about the words or phrases they can think of about the topic (Brainstorm)

2.      Have the students distinguish the advantages and  disadvantages about online shopping apart

3.        Have the students write their own examples

4.        Make a conclusion about the structure of an article

1.        Talk in groups and write down the words and phrases, put up some on the blackboard. (Task 1)

2.        List and match the details with the different opinions of the topic 

 

3. Write and share their own examples (Task 2)

 

4. Listen and pay attention to the writing structure

Help Ss understand how to select the examples or reasons to support  their own opinions clearly
